Trish and I had the privilege of living and working as the “Inn Keepers” at the beautiful Rippon-Kinsella Bed and Breakfast.  This 1871 Italianate style building is located in the historic Lincoln Park neighborhood, just blocks away from the historic Oak Ridge Cemetery.  The interior decor of this three-story home is breathtaking; an amazing experience for all that come. For the ten days we were there, I have to say that Trish actually took on the lion share of the responsibilities, and I am not just saying that because I know she’ll be reading this report.

During our extended stay, there were many times we heard inexplicable noises, like shuffling sounds or footsteps even though there were no guest in the building.

One evening we found the radio turned on in the Captains Quarters, and when we went back to investigate we found a light had also turned on.

The “Maids Room” located on the second floor seemed to be a hot spot for many of the strange noises we heard during our stay.  When we would walk by we would constantly hear these popping noises but never did narrow down the exact source.

On the very last day of our stay, Trish heard a very loud banging sound while sitting quietly reading in the downstairs dining area.  She was alone in the building at the time.

We would have certainly liked to investigate this wonderful place further, but unfortunately it was booked pretty solid during our stay.  That gave us very few opportunities to investigate without the risk of contamination, and when we were afforded that respite we were pretty exhausted to say the least!

We did manage to capture a few decent recordings, which we have included below.  Most seem to be focused on the second floor, which is probably the most attractive area of this historic residence.  Perhaps the spirits have indeed laid claim to some of these rooms, but if they do remain behind they seem to be minding their own business, coexisting very nicely with the owners and guests of the Rippon-Kimsella!
